Counselling is where you meet with someone who’s trained to listen to your worries, anxieties etc in a non-judgemental way. Counsellors have nothing to do with your family or friends. They are completely impartial and are trained to be able to give you coping techniques to help you feel better quicker.
Counsellors are trained to listen and help you sort things out in your head and also train you how to do this yourself. Many people see a private therapist on a regular basis, say once per month, just to ensure they are keeping on top of their mental health and at the top of their game!
Unfortunately some people feel embarrassed about their mental health issue. There’s no problem “too big or too small”. If it’s important to you it’s important to us and we will do our best to help you. Here are a few facts about counselling:

4: There is nothing embarrassing about seeking therapy.
