Heidi is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and she works within their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. The framework informs her practice and provides both therapist and client with guidelines for safe and effective best practice.
She works within a person-centred modality – this means that the client and counsellor work in a collaborative way. You are the expert on you, and set your own goals and pace of your sessions. As you establish a therapeutic relationship with the therapist, Heidi’s role is to help you focus and reflect on the issues you bring in – not to tell you what to do. This can be helpful in giving you a wider perspective of those issues, and can enable you to see choices which may not have been so visible before.
